July 3rd Speed Scrap - 9pm EDT (6pm PST)

I'm hosting tonight's speed scrap in the chatroom, and I will add instructions here in this first post as I add them.

Here's a link to a time converter (Thank you Janet B) -- you just set the day and time (July 3 at 9:00 pm), and select where you live from the options down the side, and it will tell what time the speed scrap starts where you are!

Once the chat starts, I will be posting the instruction steps here as we go along. You will need to have your layout posed in the "Drag Races" Gallery by Midnight - EDT or 9pm PST. Please make sure to let me know what kits you've used in your layouts.

Instructions:
1. Select 6 coordinating papers. Use 2 of the papers for your main backgrounds, you must be able to see them both. Use the remaining 4 pieces to create smaller pieces (if you make a square it can be no more than 1/4 of your 12x12 page) as elements on your page. You can also use them for photo mats.

2. Find 3 photos. Use one photo as your main photo and crop the other two down as accent photos.

3. Place a border around the inside of your layout. You can use stitches, ric rac, ribbon, doodles, or whatever works for you.

4. Use an alpha to make a title.

5. Place 10-15 elements around the photos. You can put them in front of, behind or both! You CAN repeat elements

6. Add journaling or a quote to your page.

Here is how the July Drag Races points will work:
* Designers have placed products in a category in the store called July Speed Scrap Special
* For every Drag Race you complete, you will get 1 point.
* You can also get 1 additional point for each speed scrap if you use 90% or more DSDI product (must be current, in store).
* Two points are worth $1 coupon to the special store category, redeemable in $5 denominations
* Your minimum redemption is $5, your maximum is $31 (wow!)
* Any participant with 1 or more points who doesn't reach the 10 point minimum will receive a 30% discount to the July Speed Scrap Special store category.
* All coupons will be sent out after the month ends, within the first few days of August

I think this is where I am suppose to post my finished layout.
I used all DSDI, used the Splendid Summer kit.

Here is mine.

I cut one of my background papers in half and layered the two pieces ontop of the other one. Made two squares and two strips from my other four papers.
Made my border from my very back ground paper.

In case you cant read the journalling it says: Spring is sprung, the grass is ris, I wonder where the flowers is!

I had to work from the forum as my chat often does not work properly and was not sure if instruction 6 was the final one as it did not say so.
